We are so thankful your student is joining us for our Wildcat Sports Camps this summer. We trust that it will be a huge blessing and a lot of fun. As you read through the NBCA Mission, Statement of Faith, and Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality, we ask that our Wildcat Sports Camp families acknowledge the school’s standing and beliefs in these critical areas. If, during any Wildcat Sports Camp, a disagreement of beliefs becomes a source of contention or division, then NBCA will make an effort to resolve the conflict with the family. If a satisfactory resolution is not reached, NBCA reserves the right to withdraw campers’ acceptance into any Wildcat Sports Camp.
Mission Statement:
A community engaged in relentless pursuit of Truth and excellence in education, relationships, and leadership, all for God's glory
Statement of Faith:
New Braunfels Christian Academy believes...
1. In the verbal, complete inspiration of the Old and New Testaments and hold them to be the inerrant Word of God, the supreme and final authority. (Matt. 5:17,18; II Tim. 3:16,17; II Pet. 1:20,21; Luke 1:1-3; John 10:35; Luke 16:17; Gen. 3:3,5)
2. In one God, creator of all things, eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Isa. 45:5; Mark 12:29-32; Ps. 90:3; Gen. 1:1; II Cor. 13:14; Matt 28:19; John 6:27; John 1:1-20; Acts 5:3,4) All three persons of the Trinity are wholly and completely God, existing as three in person, one in essence, subordinate in function.
3. That Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, and is true man and true God. He lived a sinless life and died for our sins according to the Scriptures...as a representative, substitutionary and complete sacrifice. He rose again from the dead, ascended into heaven and is today our High Priest and Advocate. (John 1:1, 14; Matt. 1:18; Luke 1:26-38; Matt.1:18-25; Isa. 7:14; I Cor.15:3, 22; John 3:16; Heb. 4:15, 16; I John 3:5; Rom. 19:9,10; II Cor. 5:17, 21; Rom. 5:1-11; Luke 24:23- 40; Acts 1:1-11; I Peter 3:22; John 14:8; Heb. 4:14, 5:1-10, 13:5, 7:25)
4. That man was created in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but spiritual death, which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, lost, and without hope except in His sovereign mercy and grace. (Gen. 1:27; I Cor. 11:7; Rom. 6:23)
5. That salvation is received by faith alone in the Lord Jesus Christ. All who trust in Him alone are justified and assured of eternal life by His shed blood. (Eph. 2:8,9; I John 3:1, 2; Rom. 3:14-17)
6. We believe in the resurrection of the crucified body of our Lord, His ascension into Heaven, and His personal and imminent return. (I Cor. 15:1-4; Luke 24:39; I Cor. 15:17; Romans 6:9; John 14:2; John 16:28; John 20:17; Mark 16:19; Matt 24:1-3; Matt 24:26-30; Mark 13:1-3; Mark 13:26-30; Luke 21:25-28)
Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality:
1. We believe that God wonderfully and immutably creates each person as male or female. These two distinct, complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. (Gen. 1:26-27) Rejection of one’s biological sex is a rejection of the image of God within that person.
2. We believe that the term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture. (Gen. 2:18-25) We believe that God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married to each other. (1 Cor. 6:18; 7:2-5; Heb. 13:4) We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between a man and a woman. 2020-2021 Elementary Family Handbook (Rev. 08.20.2020) 9
3. We believe that any form of sexual immorality (including adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, and use of pornography) is sinful and offensive to God. (Matt. 15:18-20; 1 Cor. 6:9-10)
4. We believe that in order to preserve the function and integrity of NBCA as the local Body of Christ and to provide a biblical role model to NBCA’s members and the community, it is imperative that all persons employed by NBCA in any capacity, or who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by this Statement on Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality. (Matt. 5:16; Phil. 2:14-16; 1 Thess. 5:22)
5. We believe that God offers redemption and restoration to all who confess and forsake their sin, seeking His mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. (Acts 3:19-21; Rom. 10:9-10; 1 Cor. 6:9- 11)
6. We believe that every person must be afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. (Mark 12:28-31; Luke 6:31) Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the doctrines of NBCA.
